C.L. Turner is a seasoned financial professional, with significant experience as principal and agent across senior debt, mezzanine debt and equity.
Turner began his career at Bank of America ("BofA"), with multiple lending and investment banking roles in TX, CA and NY. In 1989, Mr. Turner was the youngest ever to be named client Relationship Manager in the hybrid commercial/investment bank. Turner was later named Managing Director. Mr. Turner is credited with the first bridge-to-private-placement at BofA.
As Managing Director, Turner founded Bank One Healthcare Partners (BOHP). BOHP provided and raised senior and junior capital for emerging healthcare services companies, many with institutional equity capital. At BOHP, Turner executed the only institutional debt placement for a physician practice company. He also completed the first $100+M bank syndication for Bank One.
Subsequently, Turner formed an investment and consulting firm, MP, with three others. Turner's primary role was an advisory capacity to the CEO of a healthcare finance company with respect to companies in which it had an equity interest. Turner also served as member of multiple "turnaround management" teams.
Turner then managed the private equity positions held by a large private investor, who, among other positions, is the majority shareholder in Meridian. He joined Meridian in an operational capacity in late 2004.
Turner continues to serve on a number of corporate and professional Boards.
Turner holds a BA, with an English minor, from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, an MBA-Finance, with distinction, from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and an MS-Accountancy from University of Houston.
Mr. Turner resides in La Jolla, CA with his wife Dawn, and their daughter, Collette.
